Jermuk-high mountain spa town

Jermuk is located at an altitude of 2100 meters in a picturesque place where there are alpine meadows, mountain forests, and rocks. Jermuk waterfall is located here. The road from Yerevan to the resort town of Jermuk is about 170 km.

The main attraction and meeting place for all vacationers in the resort town of Jermuk is the drinking gallery, located on the shore of a small pond. The gallery's massive pavilion is made of pink and beige stone, with high ceilings supported by massive columns. There are a lot of spruce and pine trees around, which gives an intoxicating aroma to the air. Along the wall of the gallery there are five large stone jugs into which mineral water of different temperatures from 33 to 56 degrees flows in a continuous stream. The water tastes very pleasant and is highly saturated with carbon dioxide.

For those who come for medical treatment, the intake of mineral waters is strictly prescribed by the leading doctors of the sanatoriums individually. Please note that you must drink mineral water in Jermuk strictly on an empty stomach, three times a day, 30 or 40 minutes before meals. The temperature of water for use is prescribed strictly according to medical indications - by a doctor. It is better to drink it from small porcelain cups with a narrow spout, in small sips. It is recommended to take water directly at the source and after taking it, take a short 20-30 minute walk; for this, a park was laid out next to the mineral water pump room, which is currently being gradually restored. Water collected at the source retains its properties for several hours.
