Megerian Carpet in Yerevan

The Megerian family has been involved in the selling, restoration, and production of fine oriental rugs for over four generations. Over time, they began to realize the growing demand for different trends and subtle design changes and took their well-honed skills to the loom to create their own decorative rugs.
In the year of 2000, the Megerians helped to renovate and refurbish the Armenian carpet factory once called "Hay Gorg" which means Armenian carpet. Former factory branches were reopened in different regions of Armenia and Artsakh. The family has extended the carpet industry in Armenia producing carpets in the styles of Vaspurakan, Artsakh , Lotus, Lori. They also have included modern techniques and solutions. The produced carpets hold the traditional Armenian ornaments and the design.
Megerian carpets have also found their place in the Buckingham Palace in England, in the presidential residences of such countries like Russia, Georgia, Egypt, Bulgary, Sweden, China, France etc., as well as in the tabernacle of the Saint Ghazar church in Venice, Italy.
Tourists visiting Armenia can also visit the museum and the restaurant by the Megerian carpet in Yerevan. Here they can try to help the workers to weave carpets, try national delicious cuisine dishes and just have fun.
