Sheep Shearing Festival

According to the established tradition, the best sheep shearers from 11 rural communities will participate in the competition. The main purpose of the event is to promote local products, traditions, and culture of Vayots Dzor, Syunik, Shirak, Lori, Gegharkunik regions of Armenia, as well as to develop rural tourism, which will contribute to the economic development of both regions. This year, the festival will include a cultural and skills exchange component at the Festival. To this end, a professional shearer from New Zealand is expected to carry out master classes to familiarize local farmers with shearing traditions of their regions and allow for experience exchange opportunities.
