Arrival in Yerevan. Meeting with the guide and the beginning of the city tour in Yerevan – one of the most ancient cities around the world, which history dates back to the 8th century BC and now is about 3000 years old.  The city tour includes visiting the Republic Square, Matenadaran – one of the world’s biggest depositories of ancient manuscripts, Tsitsernakaberd, Cascade complex, Northern Avenue, The national theater of Opera and Ballet. Afterwards a visit to the “Ararat” brandy factory which also includes degustation.

Return to the hotel. Dinner in traditional Armenian restaurant. Overnight in the hotel

 

Breakfast in the hotel. Meeting with the guide. Transfer to Ashtarak – one of the most ancient cities in Armenia with numerous monuments representing the culture and traditions of people who used to live here. Ashtarak is best known for its regions, streets, houses and landscapes. The house-museum of Perch Proshyan is also located in the city of Ashtarak which is the next stop of the tour. It was founded in 1948.
A visit to Saghmosavank which was founded in 1215. The monastery is well-known for having a depository of ancient books and manuscripts. Here were made and copied numerous miniature illustarations. The Saghmosavank library is very rare by its unique collections.
The next stop is at Byurakan “Chrishouse” where out tourists can take part in the process of making Armenin dry fruits as well as try them.
Return to Yerevan. Overnight in the hotel.

 

Breakfast in the hotel. A visit to the Pagan temple of Garni. The temple was built in the 1st century and is dedicated to the god of Sun-Mihr. It consists out of 24 columns which represent the 24 hours of the day. Then the tourists will have the opportunity to go down the Garni gorge to enjoy the views on the “Symphony of stones”. A transfer to the village house of Garni. Baking and degustation of the Armenian lavash, dinner. Afterwards a visit to the monastery of Geghard which was built in the beginning of the 4th century and which is now a UNESCO world heritage site.
The next stop is at Tsaghkadzor which literally means gorge of flowers and is one of the most famous mountain resorts in Armenia. It is located in a picturesque valley on the southern part of the mount Teghenis mount (1845m). In comparison to other resorts Tsaghkadzor is inviting both in summertime and wintertime.
Spare time. Overnight in a hotel in Tsaghkadzor.


 

Breakfast in the hotel. A visit to the Kecharis monastery and a cablerope ride.
Transfer to the lake Sevan – one of the biggest mountain lakes in the world. It is a real natural miracle situated in the very center of the Armenian highlands. Lunch in a fish restaurant. A visit to the semiisland and the monastery of Sevanavank which is 1900 meters above the sea level. One of the most beautiful monasteries in Armenia.
A transfer to Dilijan – the greenest resort city in Armenia which is also called “Armenian Switzerlad”. This is a favorable place for family holidays. A transfer to the ecological resort in Dilijan. Getting acquainted with the culture of the Russian Molokans. Tea degustation in the villages. A return to Yerevan. Overnight in the hotel.


 

Breakfast in the hotel. A visit to one of the biggest depositories of ancient manuscripts in the whole world – to Matenadaran. The word “matenadaran” is translated from the ancient Armenian as “to hold manuscripts” , however today the word is associated with the unique museum which is also a UNESCO world heritage site. It holds a vast number of unique and expensive manuscripts.
The next stop is at Echmiadzin. The Cathedral of Echmiadzin is known as the center of the Armenian apolstolic church and is thought to be one of the most ancient Christian temples in the whole world. According to the legend Jesus the Christ came down to this place and pointed this site as the future place for the cathedral.
A visit to the cultural and touristic center of “Machanenst” where the tourists will take part in making Armenian DOlma. Afterwards they will visit the ruins of the Zvartnots Cathedral which is also a UNESCO world heritage site. It was built by the order of Nerses 3rd and marked the beginning of a new architectural style in the history. The cathedral stood only for 300 years. Today in this site one can find a museum representing the history of the cathedral as well as documents and a small reconstruction of the cathedral. Also here are fragments of the cathedral itself. A return to Yerevan. Spare time. Dinner ina traditional Armenian restaurant. Overnight in the hotel.

 

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to “Vernisage” open-air market which gives a room for artists and artisans to demonstrate and sell their artworks directly to consumers. Here one can find souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, etc.,.
A transfer to the airport. Departure.
