Ski Resort Tsaghkadzor and one day in Yerevan
The main winter resort of Armenia is Tsaghkadzor, 60 km from Yerevan, located in a picturesque valley at the foot of Mount Teghenis. The long gentle slopes of Teghenis are shared by skiers, snowboarders and snowmobile enthusiasts. The resort is equally suitable for experienced and beginners.
Tsakhkadzor is a popular destination for both winter and summer tourism. In the city and its surroundings there are a number of hotels of different classes of service, from 3* to 5*. In Soviet times, Tsakhkadzor was recognized as one of the best resort places in the country. Many sanatoriums, hotels, and sports grounds were built here. Tsaghkadzor became especially popular when the leadership of the USSR decided that Soviet teams in various sports would train in Tsaghkadzor before international competitions, since the sharp increase in hemoglobin levels here contributed to the improvement of the physical condition of athletes.
The climate and ecology of Tsakhkadzor have a healing effect on both athletes and vacationers and permanent residents of the city.
